Progress on All Is Calm

It seems that I have taken on more than I thought that I might. I've even managed to get around my husbands frown of working on different projects. I'm learning to plan my time better.
I'm actually stitching 3 ornaments. Which have my first two weeks devoted strictly to them. I have a Sunday Church project that is coming along well.
After I finish those first 2 ornaments I will stitch the 3rd while my husband is at work in February. Sunday evenings, and once he is home will be devoted strictly to my big project.
In March I'll change things up a little.
It's the end of the month,  and in some ways I feel like I haven't stitched much on All Is Calm. But then I realized that I only stitched on it for one week. My migraine took up the first week that I had intended to stitch. I've noticed that pictures do seem to help me see how much I've actually accomplished.
I often find myself taking a picture at 1 am before heading to bed. I've claimed the only light in the room to stitch by, so I'm afraid they are a bit dark, and with a blue tinge thanks to the light on my phone. Here are my Before and After pictures.

My first finish for the SAL...

I am happy to say that I have finished January from Rainbow Gallery's 2004 Stitcher's Surprise Series.

I used an unknown Blue fabbie and mixed up all of the floss choices. I may still, if I can find suitable ones, add small black buttons for his eyes.

So, in a day or two it will be onto February for me.

hugs, Kaye

A little bit of progress and a finish

Hi everyone!

A snow day slowed down my progress on ABC's of Parenting this week, didn't even manage a whole word!  I was too busy making the boys something to eat every 20 minutes and refereeing to get much stitching done.

This is my first entry into the Year Long SAL.  I stitched the first 12 last year and chose to keep going with my Brooke's Books Advent Animals to keep going with them this year for this SAL.  Only 12 left now!

SAL Beginnings

Hi Everyone!

This is my first ever SAL! It's also my first time ever contributing to a blog. Hopefully I learn quickly.

My plans this year:

My primary focus All Is Calm by James A. Meger. It isn't a new start, but hope to make some major progress this year.
My Secondary focus is my Hot Cocoa Snowmen Ornament Set by Joan Elliot. I finished the first 4 last year.  This year my goal is to finish the set for myself. Then stitch sets for my children. My goal is to try stitching 2 a month.
I've had my 1st finish for the year. Which is the 5th in the set.
I'm on my way with both!

      Happy Stitching!

2 finishes for the New Year

Hello my stitching sisters! Hope this finds everyone well, warm and stitching. I've managed to have 2 finishes for the New Year and progress on my focus piece.
First up is Daffy Cat's Reindeer #4 of 9
Second finish of the year - 12 Days of Christmas bunting by Michaela Learner.
And finally progress on Stardust Fairy by Joan Elliott

Happy Stitching! Stay Safe, Stay Warm and keep those needles smokin' !

4 Rows finished

Hi guys!

I finally picked up ABC's of Parenting again and finished off another row.  See that little smiley face next to "have fun"?  I had no idea what that was when I was stitching it.  I could not see a smiley face at all.  At the time I thought "that is a strange squiggley mark."  It is funny how sometimes you can't see something until you take a step back.

I hope it is warmer in your neck of the woods than it is here.  It was about 5 degrees away from being too cold to send the kids to school here yesterday and then later this week they are calling for rain.  Strange weather!

Happy Stitching everyone!

One new project ready to start for the Year Long SAL.

Hello everyone,

Well I am ready to start this new project

The Owl Bell Pull by Anchor.

stitched on 14 count white Aida.

As you can see I will be using this wooden scroll frame because it is such a large one I think this will work ok. Wish me luck.

Hello!

I hope this post finds everyone doing well and you have smokin' needles :)
I would like to share my focus piece and a new start , and plan for the SAL
First up this has been a WIP for a while , I had to restart her once due to gridding being off. But all is good now with Stardust Fairy by Joan Elliott. This is my starting point. Top half is done minus the beads which I do when I have finished. I'm working on her dress now.
Second up is a new start. Daffy Cat's Reindeer - Ribbon Reindeer 2011.  This makes 4 of 9. I started this one last night. I should be able to finish it pretty quick.
Finished - Jan. 2 2017

Next up will be a new start in a couple of days -  Michaela Learner's 12 Days of Christmas Bunting. You can find it in her Etsy shop here
I'll be doing these on 28 count evenweave tea-dyed

New Start- First Day of Christmas

Happy Stitching!
